Perched majestically in the breathtaking Carr Inlet, (South Puget Sound - Area 13) Deadmans Island is the best kept secret in Washington's entire Puget Sound for kayaking and paddleboarding! Conveniently located for short day trips and touring, this state park is the pride of Gig Harbor and all of Unincorporated Pierce County. The 2-acre MAGICAL wonderland was technically named Cutts Island by the State, however NOBODY refers to it as that-- its DEADMANS ISLAND to locals! Only lilly-livered landlubbers be callin' it Cutts!

DEADMANS ISLAND is actually a 351-acre marine park on Carr Inlet. Merely circumnavigating the island on a SUP (Stand-up Paddleboard) or kayak is completely incredible! You can land and have lunch on any side of the island that looks appealing, however beware of the rocky side of the island under the cliff face, as it has many rocks and barnacles that damage kayaks and paddleboards, not to mention your feet! Sit on one of the epic sandy beaches, explore the marine life, then walk up one of the trails and see the UNREAL VIEW from the top! On your way back down you might even pass ye ol' rope swing!
